Compass Direct News reports that official travel documents have arrived from New Zealand for former Muslim Mohammed Haji and his family. However, the departure of the Somali Christian convert remains on hold, because Yemen’s Immigration Authority is saying they might refuse the exit visas if the family were resettled directly from the strict Muslim state to New Zealand. The government argues that Haji’s case could encourage the thousands of Somali refugees now living in Yemen to seek asylum abroad under religious pretexts.
