Story number 3 for 4 Jan 2002

(Argentina)– As economic and political problems continue to plague Argentina the situation may actually help evangelism. That’s the word from Christian recording artist Steve Green, who as an M-K, grew up there. “When economic disaster or trouble happens people are looking for a hope outside of themselves, outside of their own means. And, so there is a greater openness to the Gospel during difficult times. And, the believers are able to give an answer for the hope that they have in Christ.” Green, who recently returned from Argentina, says some missionaries are keeping a low profile. “Many of the busses are being stopped. Bandits are stealing from all of the passengers and then taking all of their luggage. So, it’s a dangerous time for them. So, I would suppose, that the best thing to do would be to pray for them and their safety, but that also they would reach out in times like these with the love of Christ.”
