(USA)–Beachfest with Luis Palau is in full swing in the United States. Luis Palau and the rest of the festival organizers are in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina today and tomorrow. Music and special events are designed to attract an audience for Palau to share the Gospel. While Beachfest actually begins today, Palau says many other events have already been completed. “This week we’ve had, of course, television every night. Then we had a women’s luncheon, and a businessmen’s luncheon two days in a row and around 70 to 80 in each one made a commitment to Jesus Christ. So, it’s a great beginning.” Palau believes the response to God’s calling could be great in light of what took place on September 11th. “I have found that since September 11th we can really talk to a stranger in an elevator, in a coffee shop, or standing in line. And, you can get going talking about the Lord, I find, much easier than before September 11th. I really believe Americans are more open.” Organizers believe 30 to 50-thousand people will attend Beachfest.
