(Thailand)–Next, after more than 200 years of mission work in Thailand, there is a fluent easy-to-read Thai version of the Gospel of John. The World Bible Translation Center believes their translation is unique because it is the first translation in the everyday language of the people instead of the formal royal language. The Translation Center distributed 10,000 copies of John in Chiang Mai and Bangkok. The Center plans to publish the New Testament in 2001.
