Next, Christians are being asked to pray for ministry in Nigeria, West Africa. SIM Missionary Carol McHone is working in the heart of the Islamic region where anti-Christian violence erupted there a few months ago. SIM, in partnership with the local church, is sharing the Gospel and supplying aid to the Hausa and Fulani people. McHone explains her experience with these predominately Muslim peoples. “We’ve heard so much about Islam being very radical. Overall, they say that it’s a peaceful religion. With everything that’s going on around the world, particularly in Nigeria, I don’t think that’s totally true.” However, McHone says Islam in the United States is different. “Most Muslims, though it’s a growing sect here in this country, they’re probably not as radical as what we know in traditional Islamic culture and being steeped in that every day.
