(USA)–Next, Habitat for Humanity International continues to share the love of Christ by providing affordable homes for those in need and now is working to expand their “Women Build” program. Spokeswoman
Fiona Eastwood says they provide training workshops in which women can learn the needed skills and, in turn, give back to their community. “The bottom line of why we do what we do is that, given the statistics of poverty housing within the U-S and around the world, we need everybody to be building the houses; and we certainly find that women are more than ready to step up and begin building houses when we offer them this kind of environment to learn how to.” The group is currently running a national program to get women involved, but, at the same time, realize they can only do so much. “Just to match the sheer enthusiasm of the women out there, we need some really good strong financial support.”
