Story number 4 for 4 May 2001

By May 4, 2001

(Panama)–We turn our attention next to New Tribes Missions, where there is concern over a pending law in Panama’s governing body. If passed, it would outlaw the alphabet used for the Emberá New Testament. NTM’s workers would be allowed to publish one using a new approved alphabet, but would be prohibited from teaching the people how to read it. Either way, the Emberá people would be without the use of the Scriptures. Believers are being asked to pray about the legislation and evangelistic outreach in the area.
