(USA)–And finally, because there are millions of people around the world who will never be literate, JAARS is helping missionaries tackle the problem. JAARS speeds Bible translation by providing quality services for Wycliffe Bible translators and others with services like Vernacular Media Services. JAARS Lois Bryson. “We have a training program whereby we teach people to use media to reach these people with the Gospel. What that means, perhaps, is taking scriptures that have been translated, but putting them on an audio cassette.” According to Bryson, the need for Vernacular Media workers is great across the board. “We have slots around the world within our own organization of people saying, we wish we had more help – people who could record scripture for us. One of the exciting things is we have people in my classroom right now from three different missions. And, we’re working on a partnership kind of a concept.”
