Translation workers go through ‘boot camp’ training.

By April 6, 2006

Peru (MNN)–Wycliffe Associates is asking prayer for their Latin American team.

The workers in translation, literacy and Scripture use are attending a nine-month linguistics course being held in the International Course of Linguistics, Translation and Literacy facilities at Ricardo Palma University in Lima, Peru.

Interest is running high. The course only had capacity for 15 of the 40 students who applied. Launched in 2003 through the efforts of Wycliffe Bible Translators, its partner organization SIL International and COMIBAM (a Latin American consortium of churches and missions), the one-year CILTA program provides a full schedule of courses in linguistics.

CILTA provides the remaining courses they need, in Spanish, to get involved in Bible translation, literacy and other language-related activities.

Pray they will learn valuable information and skills to help them in their work.
