Valentine’s love for the inner city

By February 5, 2008

USA (MNN) — This year, people are being encouraged to show
some Valentine's Day love to the homeless in San Francisco…by eating
Chocolates.

City Team Ministries' San Francisco branch is using this
event as a fund raiser. With the U.S.
economic downturn, ministries serving the inner city poor are growing more
cash-strapped.

They run a variety of programs serving the homeless and the
poor. City Team runs a homeless shelter,
well known as a place to get a hot meal, a safe night's sleep and a clean
change of clothes. The mission
faithfully serves the community by providing temporary emergency care while
sharing the Gospel with the homeless.

Aside from that, City Team personnel operate men's
Recovery Programs, youth outreach, camp, family programs, and women's programs.

In addition to planting new churches, City Team trains leaders in evangelism and discipleship to reach their
neighborhoods with the love and Gospel of Christ.

The caring staff at CityTeam San Francisco reaches out to
those people in need and shows them there is real hope in Christ in order to
formulate everlasting real change in their lives.

City Team has sister ministries in San Jose, Oakland,
Portland, Seattle, Philadelphia, and partnerships in over seven other countries
around the world. Click here for
