USA (MNN) — It’s something that has allowed missionaries to reach the unreach more effectively. A means of transportation that’s become an important function of daily missions work. It’s the invention of flight and it will be celebrated in the United States.

On December 12-17, North Carolina will celebrate 100 years since the Wright Brothers first airplane flight in North Carolina. JAARS, an organization that speeds Bible translation by providing quality services for Wycliffe Bible Translators and others, is also participating the December 12th through the 17th celebration.

JAARS Glenn Ferguson. “Being based in North Carolina for many, many years, we’re part of North Carolina aviation history. And, the North Carolina Department of Transportation asked us to be on display out there and be involved in the celebration. We’re going to be taking one of our Helio Couriers that we used in places around the world to support missions.”

Ferguson says they won’t just be displaying their work. “We’ll be out there in a unique situation with aviation people looking at airplanes, but they’ll say, ‘why are you here?’ and we’ll tell them why we’re here and what we do with airplanes. Whoever God calls, we’re here to talk to them.”

Pray that they’ll be able share the Gospel with many people.
