Guinea (MNN) — Reaching a whole nation for Christ is monumental. Partnerships make it possible.
Helen Williams of World Missionary Press says they’ve been co-laboring with the same believer in Guinea for 22 years. “This man has been with us since 2003. We sent him a box, then in 2006, we sent him a pallet, and then we started sending full containers,” she explains.
“The work has grown. He’s very responsive and aggressive in trying to reach the entire country.”
Scripture booklets from World Missionary Press help Gospel workers introduce people to Christ when they go door-to-door.
“They’re able to take the Word, share it, explain it, leave it there, and then the Spirit makes the Word known to the reader. When they go back to follow up, there is interest,” Williams says.
Earlier this year, WMP’s primary contact used Gospel literature in a three-month training series designed to equip dozens of Guinea evangelists.
“It (the training) will be divided into three groups of 50 trainees on how to evangelize and make disciples. They will do multiplication, so we would see a vibrant Christian community in every part of Guinea,” Williams says.
Other believers use the material as part of their outreach events. “Much of it is done open air,” Williams says.
“[Believers will] have a gathering in the street, and they’ll have music [to] draw people, and then a little preaching, and then everybody in the crowd gets a booklet. It depends on the evangelist and the church.”
WMP Scripture booklets effectively address life topics using God’s Word. You can help World Missionary Press send lifesaving material worldwide by giving or volunteering. Visit the WMP website to learn more.
Williams says, “We have a great staff of volunteers, several hundred a month, and that helps us put every booklet out on the field for less than five cents.”
Pray for World Missionary Press to increase its production to meet partner needs and for WMP partners to have wisdom and strength in pursuing Gospel growth.
