International (MNN)--For anyone struggling, World Missionary Press offers The Power of Hope.

International (MNN)—For anyone who is struggling, World Missionary Press has recently released a new scripture-filled booklet, The Power of Hope. This booklet, created in-house by the organization, has been three to four years in the making. Originally intended for those facing persecution and other severely difficult situations, the booklet grew over time to a message of hope to anyone in need

“I really believe this is one we’re going to be able to provide for a lot of people,” says Helen Williams. “In here, [the author] says, ‘Hopelessness is a universal problem.’”

The booklet covers a variety of topics and does not need to be read cover-to-cover. Readers can easily consult the table of contents and choose a section based on their current need. Ultimately, Williams notes, the booklet points not to an earthly hope, but to an eternal one.

“God is the God of hope, and he wants us to abound in hope.”

The booklet is currently available in English, and World Missionary Press is working to finish a Spanish translation within the next few months. They’ve also sent copies to each of their national coordinators and are waiting on requests for other translations.

“We did an initial printing, and that’s gone very quickly,” says Williams. “So we are doing a major printing, again, and when that’s available, then we’ll have a lot of inventory.”

Those interested can request a copy at wmpress.org/order/ or read it online at wmpress.org/read-booklet/.

You can also help cover the costs of printing this booklet by partnering with World Missionary Press. Learn more at wmpress.org/give/.

China (MNN)—Bible distribution faces challenges, but not a complete ban.

China (MNN)—Kurt Rovenstine, of Bibles for China, disagrees with recent claims that China is one of the countries leading a trend of banning the Bible, as reported in a recent article.

“The way these articles are framed and the statements that they make, I think you have to be able to dig a little bit deeper to find out what is really the issue,” says Rovenstine.

So what is true?

In the article referenced, China is mentioned alongside Saudi Arabia and North Korea as some of the most dangerous countries to possess a Bible—Rovenstine notes this misrepresents the reality. China is not in the top three for limited access, but it is on the list of countries where access to the Bible is most restricted.

The article also claims the Chinese government is “removing the Bible from online retailers and replacing it with a ‘sanitized’ version.”

“We’ve not seen any of that,” says Rovenstine. “Nobody who’s claiming that has ever shown us that or actually produced one of these compromised Bibles.”

Most significantly, he notes the Bible is not banned in China—but it can be difficult to get one.

“Right now the Bible is relatively accessible. I mean, we still have a great number of requests and opportunities to do Bible distribution.”

(Photo courtesy of Bibles for China via Facebook)

Having a Bible or buying one is not illegal in China. People traveling to China can also bring their Bible, even as a gift for someone within the country. However, they can’t be purchased just anywhere, and printing of the Bible is limited by the government. Bibles for China works with Amity Printing Press, which has approval to print a limited number of Bibles a year.

“They’re printed by the millions,” says Rovenstine. “That’s not enough, but we want to make sure that what is being printed is accessible to those who may not have the opportunity to possess a Bible.”

There are still several challenges with distributing the Bible in China. There simply are not as many Bibles available as there are people who want access to one, and the underground church faces greater challenges than the registered church. On top of that, there is still a need to reach areas of China that are more rural or have lower economic positions. Rovenstine notes there are some places the Bible could be available but not accessible simply because it hasn’t been translated into different minority languages.

“There’s still challenges, absolutely, but there’s still opportunity that we need to be pursuing and taking advantage of, until those opportunities are not available to us anymore.”

He asks believers to continue supporting Bible translation and distribution around the world.

“Over a million Bibles that Bibles for China has had the privilege of helping to distribute are in the hands of people just like me who are reading those Bibles, and the Holy Spirit is working on their lives in those moments. I thought that’s really cool, that the Bible is doing its good work, and we need to make sure that good work is available to anybody who has a desire for that.”

How to Pray:

Pray for the good work of Bible translation and distribution.

Pray Bibles for China continues to have opportunities to do the work they’ll called to—that roadblock and logistics would be eased, so they can continue to put Bibles in the hands of those who desire them.

Pray God would soften the hearts and attitudes of those in China who are making decisions around distribution.

USA (MNN) — What’s missing is something only God can provide. What’s broken, only He can restore.

USA (MNN) — The Bible urges believers not to conform to the patterns of this world, but to be transformed through the renewing of their minds (Rom. 12:2). For Brandon Bower of The Lighthouse ministry, that truth is central to understanding — and overcoming — addiction.

“If we truly believe that God can change souls, we’ve got to turn to the Bible as the number one place to find help for hurting people,” Bower says.

He explains that real help begins at the level of the soul. Addiction, he says, reflects a broken pattern — one shaped by the world’s misplaced attempts at hope, healing, and purpose.

“Addiction is a pattern of this world. It’s a faulty pattern of where people try to find hope, help, and healing, but they’re mistaken,” says Bower.

While addiction may offer temporary relief, it leaves lasting damage — especially in the brain. Breaking free often requires significant effort and support. Yet Bower notes that even those who pursue secular counseling can still come away feeling empty: “People were still left without a purpose. They were left empty.”

Reading Bible (Photo courtesy of
Priscilla Du Preez via Unsplash)

What’s missing is something only God can provide. What’s broken, only He can restore.

He recalls one man who grew up in the foster system, turned to drugs, and eventually landed in jail — angry, isolated, and without hope. But through consistent time in Scripture with The Lighthouse ministry, his life was transformed.

“Now he cares deeply for others — he pursues them when they’re struggling. He has a heart to help people change because he’s seen how much God has transformed his own heart. Today, he’s even on staff with me,” says Bower.

Bower emphasizes that true healing comes through turning away from destructive patterns and turning toward God. “A lot of healing in the addiction world is turning from and turning to the God who actually has the power to transform,” says Bower.

Pray for those trapped in harmful thought patterns that lead to addiction — that God would rescue and renew them. Pray, too, for Lighthouse ministry, that it would have the resources and opportunities needed to reach those still searching for hope.

International (MNN)—Scripture booklets are offering comfort to those most in need.

International (MNN)—When the Philippines were struck by a 6.9 magnitude earthquake, followed by typhoons, there were preachers ready to step in—thanks in part to a former gang leader, according to Helen Williams of World Missionary Press.

“This man, he was public enemy number one, gang leader for years in the Philippines, and he found the Lord. He started following Jesus in prison,” says Williams.

“Ever since the beginning of World Missionary Press, our goal has been to get the Word out to all nations, and we’ve trusted the Lord to provide day in and day out. And for the past 60 years, He’s provided everything we need to accomplish this mission.”
(Graphic, caption courtesy of World Missionary Press)

From there, he discipled many other gang members and criminals over the years. So when disaster hit Cebu City, these preachers were there to share the Gospel, handing out Scripture booklets—similar to the same booklet that originally led him to Jesus.

“It was the Scripture booklets that were the tools that led him to the Lord, and then he discipled others, and now he’s one of those boldly going to where the people need him the most with the booklets and just doing a great work,” says Williams.

According to her, hundreds of thousands of World Mission Press scripture booklets have been distributed to the area. This isn’t an isolated event for World Missionary Press, which prints and ships free, accessible Scripture booklets in over 350 languages, in large quantities, around the world.

“The Lord has people in place, and when these things come up, it’s our job to keep them supplied.”

World Missionary Press work to keep booklets on the shelves of their partner ministries, providing enough not just for church and congregation use, but also extra for when disaster strikes, like it did in the Philippines—and in Myanmar.

When a 7.7-7.9 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, a local ministry mobilized churches and volunteers to provide emergency relief. Their approach focused on two components: humanitarian assistance and spiritual care, including the Scripture booklets.

Williams shares the testimony of one woman who had lost several family members and her home in the earthquake:

(Graphic courtesy of World Missionary Press)

“She shared that in the days following the disaster, she felt overwhelmed by grief and hopelessness, believing she had nothing left to live for. When she received a World Missionary Press Scripture booklet, she read it repeatedly. She said, ‘Everything I owned was gone and I had nothing left, but the words of this booklet told me that God still loves me and has not forsaken me. It gave mestrength to stand again.’”

World Missionary Press relies on donations to help keep their partner ministries supplied. Williams asks for prayer to help keep their staff focused, but especially for those who receive the booklets and are on the front lines, offering hope to those who need it most.

“When the Word is there, it brings the comfort, it brings the hope, it brings the reality of eternity for those that they have lost,” says Williams.

International (MNN) — Sharing the Gospel does not have to be complicated — especially when you have solid, trustworthy resources in hand.

International (MNN) — World Missionary Press is entering the new year ready to meet fresh challenges under its new president.

Sharing the Gospel does not have to be complicated — especially when you have solid, trustworthy resources in hand.

That is the heartbeat behind World Missionary Press, a ministry that has been producing and distributing Gospel literature for more than six decades. But even a long-standing mission has to adapt as the world changes. New challenges continue to emerge, and they often require a fresh approach.

That is one reason World Missionary Press recently welcomed a new leader, Tyler Bauer. Ministry representative Helen Williams says the organization is expanding, but growth also increases the need for clarity and operational strength.

“We’re growing every year and in what we produce and in the opportunities we have,” Williams explains, “but there needs to be someone watching out — making us more efficient, making us more focused.”

Delivery of the materials (Photo courtesy of WMP)

Bauer’s vision includes more than systems and structure. He also emphasizes personal growth among staff as part of strengthening the ministry’s global impact. Williams says he is already preparing the team for what is ahead.

“He believes, if we look at the world, there’s going to be increased, increased, increased request for the literature,” she says, “and he’s trying to prepare us internally for that.”

World Missionary Press prints and ships Scripture booklets and Bible studies in more than 350 languages — resources designed to be simple to use, easy to share, and effective in the hands of believers around the world.

“Use the booklets on their own and see how they work,” Williams encourages. “See how the Spirit uses the booklets. And just one booklet can change a family and a life.”

With global instability on the rise, Gospel workers often need reliable, ready-to-share literature more than ever. Supporters are also playing an increasingly important role in making that possible — helping the ministry stretch resources and remain accountable in every step of distribution.

“We make it go as far as we possibly can,” Williams says, “and we are deeply aware of our accountability for that, because it’s the Lord giving to us through them.”

Pray that Gospel literature will reach more people worldwide, and pray for wisdom for the new leadership at World Missionary Press.

China (MNN) — Many in China are thirsty for the Bible’s living water, but access is growing harder.

China (MNN) — The Bible is living water, and many people in China are thirsty for it. But getting Bibles into the country is becoming harder.

Kurt Rovenstine with Bibles for China says they’re working carefully and patiently as new laws add limits. “It’s never our goal to break a law or put our Chinese brothers and sisters in danger,” he explains. “But there’s often a question as to what a regulation really means.”

The new regulations also pressure believers to align more closely with the Communist Party. Rovenstine says practical challenges are growing too: “Getting funding into China is a challenge. Organizing the distributions are a challenge because of the permissions that are required.”

There is a great need for the Living Word in China (Representative photo: Chinese farmer; photo courtesy of Zhengfan Yang via Unsplash)

Another major hurdle is staying connected with local partners without putting them at risk.

“What we want to do is be able to interact with and see the process and have conversations and encourage our brothers and sisters in China,” he says.

Even with restrictions, God provides encouragement.

“We continue to receive requests for Bibles, and we do our best to meet them — it just takes more time,” adds Rovenstine.

On another occasion, Rovenstine’s team couldn’t meet with the Bible school they support through donations. However, God provided another way to meet the graduates.

“As providence of the Holy Spirit’s guidance would have it, we arrived and worshiped on a day where they were celebrating a significant anniversary of that Bible school, and they had the students sing two songs for the congregation. One of the students that was graduating preached the message!” shares Rovenstine.

It was a reminder that God is still at work — and that their efforts are bearing fruit.

Please pray for more open doors for the ministry. “Pray for opportunities that may arise that we’re yet unaware of, that God would lead us to a place to be able to deploy resources,” says Rovenstine.

USA (MNN) — Prisoners For Christ is seeing hundreds of inmates come to faith!

USA (MNN) — In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, digital access in U.S. prisons skyrocketed. One tool stood out: tablets. Soon, correctional facilities began deploying secure tablets by the thousands.

Prisoners For Christ (PFC) recognized the ministry opportunity early. They eventually connected with Pando, a closed-access app owned and operated by God Behind Bars out of Nevada. In January 2025, PFC began uploading Christian books, sermons, Bible teachings, and Gospel videos.

(Photo courtesy of Prisoners For Christ)

Mike North, Vice President of Communications at PFC, says, “We’ve been on there almost a year, and the response has been incredible. It’s been greater than we ever imagined!”

Tablets in prison aren’t like civilian devices. Inmates cannot freely access the Internet or search random websites. Instead, usage is heavily restricted to pre-approved apps such as Pando and other monitored content platforms. That control ensures safety while allowing ministries like PFC to provide meaningful, Gospel-centered material.

And prisoners are responding. One inmate named Carl wrote: “I’m so ready to give my life to Christ and follow Him to the ends of the earth… I will follow you forever. Amen.”

To date, PFC’s 46 uploaded videos have been viewed more than 564,000 times. The channel has also recorded 702 professions of faith in Jesus Christ after inmates watch a video that clearly explains the Gospel.

“It’s really humbling and it’s an unexpected blessing to think that we are actually in the cell with these prisoners,” North says. “We are actually meeting them — literally where they are — to present the light of the Gospel.”

(Photo courtesy of Prisoners For Christ)

When asked about PFC’s future vision with the Pando app, North responds, “That we would continue to upload content that’s relevant — and not just relevant, but interesting…. We want to evangelize and disciple these brothers and sisters in Christ.”

The momentum is building nationwide. Greg von Tobel, President and Founder of PFC, predicts, “By five years, I think every inmate in America will have a tablet. So that gives the Christian ministries out there an incredible opportunity to provide their resources to inmates without having boots on the ground.”

Pando is already active on 610,000 tablets, and plans underway could add another 700,000, bringing the total to 1.1 million devices.

That’s a Gospel opportunity unlike anything prison ministries have seen before. But growth takes funding.

Von Tobel says, “If your listeners were so moved to partner with us…there’s a lot more material that we could certainly avail ourselves of putting out there for inmate consumption. So that would be a prayer request.”

You can help bring the Gospel into prison cells across the United States. Click here to give through the PFC website.

Pray for favor and open hearts as the Gospel goes into more prisons through Pando. Pray also for strength and spiritual growth for new believers inside prison walls.

International (MNN) — One billion downloads later, pray for one billion changed hearts for Christ!

International (MNN) — YouVersion recently hit a mind-blowing milestone its creators never could have imagined when it launched 17 years ago: one BILLION downloads of the YouVersion Bible app.

Bibles for China’s Kurt Rovenstine attended the YouVersion celebration Monday in Oklahoma City. He says, “It was a reminder to us — as a ministry that works in Bible distribution — of the importance of Bible distribution.

“It celebrated the growing desire for people to find truth and that people are searching for truth – and the Bible is a place where they’re going to find that.”

The ceremony highlighted testimonies of individuals coming to faith through Scripture accessed digitally.

Yet, Rovenstine also underscores the reality that not everyone has access to the Bible. In China where his ministry serves, Bible apps can be controlled.

“The digital piece is a challenge, and YouVersion in most parts of China is probably not available,” says Rovenstine.

“So part of that encouragement at that celebration was also a reminder that online and digital is great, but it also can be restricted. If you don’t have it physically, it may not be available. So we’re reminded that whereas the Bible is very accessible and desired by many, it’s still a challenge.”

Pray that the one billion YouVersion downloads will result in one billion transformed lives. Pray also that more people in China and around the world get their hands on God’s Word.

International (MNN) -- Deaf people may see hearing believers worship, yet never understand the message.

International (MNN) — Imagine you’re a child with no access to language. You can’t understand anyone in your family, and they can’t understand you, either.

Every week, your family goes to a building where people stand up and sit down multiple times. Then, one man stands up to talk for what feels like forever. There’s a picture in that building of a man broken and bleeding, nailed to a wooden structure.

You have so many questions about that picture, but no way to ask them. You want to know who the Man is, why He’s been abused, where and when this crime took place, and why the picture is in this building – yet with nowhere to turn with those questions, you set them aside unanswered.

This is what church is like for many Deaf people. “Deaf people can be sitting in church. They can be part of a Christian family that tries to do devotions every evening,” DOOR International’s Rob Myers says.

“They can be very near to the Gospel, but if there’s no access to the Gospel in sign language, they’re incredibly far from it.”

Knowledge barriers

Deafness is the only disability that creates a separate language – sign language. Most Deaf communities are cut off from the Gospel because it’s not available in a sign language they understand.

“Globally, there are about 300 or more sign languages, and less than a third have any verse of Scripture translated,” Myers says.

You can help Deaf people know the Good News by partnering with DOOR International. Learn more about that here.

“Because one of the biggest issues facing the Deaf community right now, in terms of Gospel access, is a lack of awareness in the global church, one of the biggest steps that people can do is spread the word,” Myers says.

“If this is your first time recognizing that Deaf people have had barriers to the Gospel, take an opportunity to share this story with other people.”

Use the buttons at the bottom of this page to share this story on your social platforms. Most importantly, pray. Ask the Lord to use DOOR’s “I Want to Know” campaign to educate hearing believers about Deaf needs and encourage them to support Deaf ministry.

USA (MNN) — How can more young people use their voices for biblical truth?

USA (MNN) — Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA, was shot and killed Wednesday while speaking at a public event on Utah Valley University’s campus.

He was holding not a gun, not a knife, but a microphone.

Kirk was a prominent political figure in America who consistently emphasized his faith in Christ and the biblical values that shaped his worldview and debates.

Greg Yoder, Executive Director of Keys for Kids Ministries, reflects on Kirk’s impact: “He had the uncanny ability, kind of like the Apostle Paul, of taking Scripture and proving Scripture to be absolutely true, but then infusing it into everyday culture and helping young people understand it. I think this is why he was targeted.

“He was actually convincing many of these young people that the ways of Jesus are the right ways of life.”

College students met around the country to pray for Charlie’s family and our nation. (GVSU – Photo: Joe Moss)

Kirk was known for practicing civil discourse and championing free speech on college campuses. His conservative convictions centered on faith, family, the sanctity of marriage, pro-life values, patriotism, justice, and individual freedom.

He willingly engaged with both supporters and critics, inviting students who disagreed with him to come talk at his table first.

Yet, even amidst differences of opinion, Kirk pointed young people to the Gospel. In an X post on September 6, just days before his assassination, Kirk wrote, “Jesus defeated death so you can live.”

Yoder says, “What I’m always amazed at is how he was depicted as some kind of monster and a hateful person, bigoted, etc. Clearly, they never watched any of his interactions with college students because he loved them. I mean, even those that criticized him and called him horrible names. He just smiled and said, ‘Well, you know, you have the right to say that. I love you. Jesus died for you.'”

American Christians are largely unfamiliar with physical persecution. Kirk’s assassination serves as a stark reminder that anyone who is a loud voice for biblical values may become a target for physical violence.

Yoder points to the truth of Ephesians 6:12: Our wrestle is not against flesh and blood.

“This is a time to mourn — not just for Charlie Kirk, but our culture, which is dying without Jesus,” Yoder says. “If the culture can lie and be convincing enough to tell someone they don’t know what gender they are, or that what’s evil is good and what’s good is evil, we know that this is the spiritual battle that Scripture is so clear about talking about.”

According to Barna Research, Generation Z is experiencing a spiritual revival. American churches are seeing young people coming back in droves, seeking out spiritual truth and answers to life’s questions.

At this pivotal cultural moment, young believers are asking, “How am I going to use my voice for truth for Christ?”

It looks like picking up the microphone and engaging in hard spiritual conversations — as Yoder puts it, “sharing your faith boldly and lovingly in this marketplace of ideas.”

Charlie Kirk (Photo courtesy of Wikimedia Commons)

He asks, “Now the question is, who’s next? Who will join Charlie in declaring the liberating power of the Gospel, and using that to help form a political guide? We as Christians still live in this world. Are we to be influencers in the world? I think we are.”

If you want more biblical resources to encourage young people, check out the Keys for Kids devotionals and Unlocked devotions for teens.

Yoder also urges, “Obviously, we need to be praying for Charlie’s family, his wife Erika, his two kids, his friends, his close family, and those shaken by the event. There were so many young people there that saw this, and they’re not going to ever forget it.

“We need to be praying for ourselves, praying for our churches, and praying for those that are going to be responding in light of all of this that’s happened — and being reminded of the fact that God is still on the throne.”
