A prayer group in the U-S reaches out to the military with God’s Word

USA (MNN) — As the US death toll continues to rise in Iraq, a ministry is doing what it can to reach out to service men and women not just in Iraq, but all over the world. As many soldiers are unsure about their future, Bible Pathway Ministries is giving them assurance of God’s love through a special military edition of Bible Pathway.

Bible Pathway’s Barbara Bivens say this new initiative started when a chaplain working in a Muslim nation requested the Bible Pathway materials. “We sent him our then existing 5th edition. We posted his thank you letter in our monthly update and a prayer group from Palm Beach, Florida, provided the money to print 10,000 copies of the Best of Bible Pathway, Military edition.”

It’s a special military edition of Bible Pathway. Bible Pathway is daily devotional designed to take the reader through the Bible in one year. Bivens says, “It’s going to be available free to any military worldwide, individuals or to chaplains to distribute. They need as much spiritual encouragement as we can provide for them.”

Bivens says chaplains are sharing Bible Pathway devotionals with nationals who are working with them. She’s praying these people will take the devotionals home and show their families.

Right now Bible Pathway is looking for names of service personnel. “So, we’re asking people to send us the names of their loved ones, the names of any chaplains, or anything and we’ll be glad to send the books.”

Pray that the red-tape will be cleared to get the books into countries where religious freedom is restricted.
