USA (MNN)–The Barna Research group says women are the spiritual backbones of American congregations.
But, as they fulfill their roles in family, many are living defeated lives. Nancy Leigh DeMoss is the host and teacher for ‘Revive Our Hearts,’ an outreach of Life Action Ministries. She describes her driving passion for the women she reaches through conferences and the radio ministry. “The purpose is to encounter Christ, and to let him probe and penetrate into the deepest concerns of your heart.”
The conferences bring together women, who come from a broad spectrum of churches and denominations, for the purpose of seeking the Lord for revival in their own lives as well as in their homes, churches, and communities.
Fresh off a conference in Virginia, DeMoss shares one highlight. She says one woman, who lived on the West coast, had come to Christ through the radio broadcast. When she found out DeMoss was speaking in Virginia, she attended. DeMoss spoke to her, and when she told the gathering the woman was a new believer, there was a standing ovation and a sense of welcoming fellowship.
Of her upcoming April 29-30th Tennessee conference, she says, “I anticipate that there will be women coming from all seasons of life. There will be a cross section. Women who just need some fresh encouragement from the Lord. There will be women who are in sinful bondages, issues that need to be dealt with. I believe that God will confront those issues and show women a way out.”
DeMoss teaches the practical application of Scripture. Each conference includes concentrated times of praise and worship, teaching from the Word of God, individual and group prayer, and opportunities to respond personally to God.
