India (MNN) — Indian Christians are facing mob violence according to reports from Voice of the Martyrs Canada .  One man was killed and others are being beaten for proclaiming their faith.

S. Stanley, 58, was killed by rioting youth who stormed over the front gate of his home on February 10 said a report from VOMC sources.  The mob threw stones at him and his wife, shouted words against Christianity, and tried to force their way over the gate while Stanley
asked them to leave.  When Stanley went into his home to call the police the mob followed him and proceeded to stab him several times.  They also assaulted his wife.

A second report comes from the Evangelical Fellowship of India.  A letter from police claims the three Christians were in the wrong when Hindu militants attacked them on February 8.  The attack happened while the team was showing the "Jesus film" in Nagpur, Maharashtra.  One man was rushed to the hospital and the others received minor injuries.  Attackers also damaged the team's sound equipment.  February 13 is their hearing.

Another man who refused to "reconvert" to Hinduism, Rahbindra Narzaree, of Assam state, was forced to take refuge at his brother's home.  For two years Narzaree and his family have been ostracized for being Christians.  Though they gave in to the pressure for a short time, they later re-declared their Christianity.  During a meeting with villagers on February 6, villagers denounced Narzaree and his wife and attacked them with sticks.  They are yet to be apprehended.

They ask that you pray for comfort for the family of Stanley and that God would heal those who are being attacked.  Also, pray that Christians not grow weary or lose heart as they must persevere
to defend their faith.
