USA (MNN) — Following a two-day manhunt, Seattle, Washington police shot and killed 37-year-old Maurice Clemmons, the suspect in the Sunday murders of four police officers.

Police officials said Mr. Clemmons was carrying a gun that had belonged to one of the four officers. Clemmons shot and killed the four while they were doing paperwork at acoffee shop near Tacoma Sunday morning.

Mr. Clemmons faced pending felony charges of raping a 12-year-old relative and assaulting police officers. He was released on bail last week.

The officers he killed were Tina Griswold, 40; Ronald Owens, 37; Sgt. Mark Renninger, 39; and Greg Richards, 42. All left behind children and families.

As the area reacted in shock to the attacks, they are also making preparations to heal. The area chapter of Youth For Christ, in partnership with the local YMCA and other churches, will host a community prayer service tonight for the families and friends of the slain Lakewood officers.

Pray that the hope of Christ can be shared with those who are grieving.
