Christian Aid Mission finds new president, CEO in Randy Vaught

By February 22, 2012

International (MNN) — Christian Aid Mission announced this week at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention that a new president and CEO would be taking the helm: Randy Vaught.

Vaught founded and pastored a church for 30 years until he stepped into this new role in January. After serving on the board of Christian Aid for the last 16 years, he knows the ins and outs of the ministry well.

Little will change in the short-term as he steps into his new role, says Vaught. Nevertheless, he wants to revive and dust off the ministry's vision.

"We're putting together a vision for Christian Aid and where we want Christian Aid to go, focusing on God's power," Vaught explains. "The Kingdom of God does not consist of talk, but power. So we want God's people, particularly the staff of Christian Aid, to be filled with the power of God."

Already, Vaught has a running theme among the staff to focus deeply on growing in their faith and revitalizing the spiritual climate in order to make an impact for the Kingdom worldwide.

"We want the light and the life of Christ that is in our staff members and in our donors to shine to the nations. In other words, we support indigenous missions. And we want to make clear: you don't have to go overseas to shine the light and life of Christ that is in you to other nations around the world."

This focus, along with attentiveness to God's voice, will help Christian Aid move forward in the mission God has given them, Vaught says.

Vaught hopes to engage the staff in "listening to what God is saying and not just rushing off and doing something because something needs to be done. Find out what God wants you to do, then pray for the power of God, the grace of God, to accomplish the purposes that He has put within you."

A few steps forward in the future may include working with churches in Europe. For now, Vaught is listening for God's voice and moving where He calls. Pray for Vaught as he assumes this new role, and for the ministry as they earnestly try to spread Christ's name under new leadership. Pray that many people worldwide would come to know the Lord personally through Christian Aid.
