Christian radio ministry in the Philippines faces a tough challenge.

By July 13, 2005

Philippines (MNN)–Far East Broadcasting Company reports that power rates in the Philippines have increased drastically in the past few months.

As a result, FEBC’s overseas service has seen a 40-percent spike in the cost of electricity for the broadcasts through DXAS.

Powered by a five-kilowatt transmitter, DXAS Zamboanga has been broadcasting to listeners in Basilan, Zamboanga, South and West Mindanao and Pagadian for 26 years.

The station remains on the air through listeners and partners who continually support this radio ministry. Pray that God will raise new partners this year for the additional resources needed to keep programming on the air.
