Ukraine (MNN) — Worry is the constant companion of some 20,000 Crimean Tatars taking shelter in Ukraine. Most fled their homeland when Russia took control in March. Now it’s uncertain if they can return anytime soon, and those who remain in Crimea are facing increasing pressure.

With the help of an in-country partner, Russian Ministries School Without Walls (SWW) students recently brought a message of hope to Crimean Tatars taking refuge in Kiev. Armed with physical aid and Scripture, they let families know there is life beyond the present in Jesus Christ.

SWW students and The Association for Spiritual Renewal staff visited 200 Crimean refugee families living in temporary housing. They brought the families personal hygiene items, household items, toys, school supplies, copies of the Gospel of Luke, and Story of Jesus booklets for the children.

Teams visited the refugee families shortly before Easter. See photos of the distribution on the Russian Ministries Facebook page.

Earlier this month, Russian Ministries began an Emergency Fund to help Ukrainians and refugees from Crimea who have been affected by the current crisis. It’s equipping the Body of Christ in Ukraine with resources to provide both physical and spiritual support for hurting people.

Pray for refugees feeling hopeless and discouraged. Pray that they will find new hope in Christ.

  • Well, I think also must be said, that a actually all Tatars are one nation. Only in the anti Tatar and anti Horde ideology they were divided into “different nations”: “Crimean”, “Volga”, “Siberian” and many “other” Tatars – so that to crush them separately.
All about this is explained in the book “Forgotten Heritage of Tatars” (by Galy Yenikeyev). It is about hidden real history of Tatars and their fraternal Turkic peoples. This e-book you can easily find on Smashwords company website: https://www.smashwords.com/profile/view/MIG17

There are a lot of previously little-known historical facts, as well as 16 maps and illustrations in this book.
