Gospel comes to Tonga

Kingdom of Tonga (MNN) — Many organizations are partnering together to try and get a copy of the Gospel to every child in the Kingdom of Tonga.

The Kingdom of Tonga is located between Hawaii and New Zealand and is made up of some 176 islands. The country is a staunch Christian nation that honors Sundays across every island group. The Sabbath is declared sacred in the Tongan Constitution.

Earlier this Spring, 240,000 cartons containing 48,000 copies of the Book of Hope arrived in the Kingdom of Tonga. The Minister of Education endorsed the book and approved its distribution in all Tongan schools and educational institutions. After training was complete in March, the countrywide outreach began.

Many organizations agreed to partner with Book of Hope to bring God's Word to every child and youth throughout the nation, and the goal is to travel to every inhabited island to make sure that every child in the Kingdom of Tonga receives God's Word.
