Haitian school damaged, staff is safe

Haiti (MNN) — Schooling has been put on hold in Haiti. Many schools have collapsed completely; regardless, most Haitians are terrified to enter another building after the trauma experienced in the recent 7.0 earthquake.

Worldwide Christian Schools is still waiting to hear concrete information about the condition of most schools in Haiti. A WWCS representative has been sent to survey the damage, but in the meantime, since they are not a first responder agency, WWCS can only wait, pray and hope for the best.

The ministry has, however, reported that at least one of their partner schools has undergone significant damage. No staff members were killed in the disaster, but many lost their homes. These Haitian partners are desperate for outside help to rebuild their school building.

WWCS is doing what they can to round up volunteers to embark on such an endeavor. They are offering opportunities to join missions teams or to do other work that may be needed. To learn more about how you can help, click here and fill out a volunteer form.

WWCS is an organization that supports Christian education around the globe. Pray about helping this ministry so that Haitian children may be brought back to their schools to learn about Christ. Pray also for children who have been injured or orphaned as a result of this tragedy.
