USA (MNN) — International Bible Society (IBS) and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship will team up to reach a new generation of college students with a special distribution of Today’s New International Version of the Bible at Urbana 03, December 27-31.

IBS will provide 21,800 copies of Today’s New International Version (TNIV) New Testaments for Urbana 03 Student Mission Convention held at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, Illinois. The InterVarsity students and other attendees will receive copies of Encounter Jesus, a soft-cover TNIV New Testament with special custom helps written by InterVarsity staff. Urbana convention staff will receive leather-bound copies of the TNIV New Testament.

“IBS is tremendously excited to minister with Today’s New International Version at Urbana,” said Paul Moede, IBS Vice President of Ministry Services. “The TNIV is the perfect translation to reach the next generation, and we are excited that Urbana feels the same way.”

Since 1946, Urbana has challenged more than 200,000 college students and recent graduates to learn about world missions and find ways to be involved in God’s mission. Held every three years, the convention attracts Christian students and missionaries from around the world.

“We are placing a strong emphasis on reaching out with the Word during Urbana 03,” said Jim Tebbe, Urbana Director, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA. “As part of our platform presentation, we will be encouraging our attendees to share their copy of the TNIV with someone to whom they are ministering.”

Mission Network News will be at Urbana ’03 to provide coverage for the event.
