Ministry is giving away a trip to Guatemala

By March 10, 2010

Guatemala (MNN) — Have you ever wanted to go on a short-term mission trip, but couldn't afford it, or you just weren't sure what to expect? Kids Alive International has an opportunity of a lifetime. How about a trip for two to Guatemala — absolutely free!

While many short-term mission trips have a purpose, this trip is like none other. It's a Kids Alive Vacation with a Purpose. Kids Alive's President Al Lackey says, "We're looking for a spiritual fire to be lit in the hearts and lives of the two people chosen to join us on this trip."

While you won't be responsible for conducting a huge evangelistic program or humanitarian initiative, you will be able to see firsthand what God is doing through the work of Kids Alive in Guatemala.

If your name is drawn, you and a relative will travel to Guatemala to observe how Kids Alive is affecting the lives of children there. "The winners will to get a chance to see kids who have recently been taken in and rescued. They're going to get a chance to see kids who have been in the program for a while," says Lackey. "Then they're going to get the special opportunity to meet the kids who have graduated, and then see the fruit of what the Western church has done for that country."

Essentially, the purpose of the trip is to get "the word out about the work of Kids Alive so that others will share this passion to reach kids–not only from a physical and humanitarian side, but our desire and passion is that they become children of God."
