Ministry teams report on their work in a small Russian coal mining town.

By October 31, 2003

Russia (MNN)–After months of prayer and preparation, an Operation Mobilization team is working in Raichihensk, a small coal mining town on the border with China.

Arriving just five months ago, the team plans include teaching English, computer skills, setting up an AWANA program, running an Alpha course and sports ministry.
The team laid the groundwork in a summer visit with three area churches. The report indicates church leaders are glad of the support.

At each church service the team has been involved in singing, preaching and sharing a testimony. The local pastor’s family has been very gracious, friendly and helpful to the team. Raichihensk is a small town of 41,000 people, including the surrounding area. It is a coal mining town, hit hard by the reforms over the last 16 years.

Pray that the ministry takes root.
