Music Festival in Australia offers worship and witness

By October 1, 2004

Australia (MNN) — It’s music festival, arts festival and teaching ministry. It’s all wrapped up into what’s called, “Black Stump Music Festival” taking place now through Sunday 90 minutes south of Sydney, Australia.

Grace Ministries International missionaries Craig and Sally Brandvold are involved in the event with their Mars Hill cafe. The Christian cafe will provide food to the thousands that will camp at the festival all weekend. Mars Hill cafe will be a place of challenge, dialogue, encouragement, counsel and witness.

“Black Stump” is drawing people from all over Australia and New Zealand which will feature Australian church leaders, musicians, artists and a number of non-Christians. So, the event is not only a time of encouragement for Christians, but also a time of outreach.

Mars Hill staffers will not only serve festival goers at the cafe, but they’ll also lead worship in one of the venues on Sunday, and holding one elective seminar on “keeping the faith in the emerging culture.”

Pray that many Christians will recommit themselves to talking about their faith and that seeds of the Gospel will be planted in those who don’t know Christ.
