New director of training for China Partners, training needs are great

By February 14, 2008

China (MNN) — In late February, China Partner's newest Director of Training, Dr. Daniel Hsu, and Erik Burklin will be on their way to China to meet new leaders in churches in Shanghai and Nanjing.

Hsu is not new to China Partner. He met Burklin in 1999 and became an interpreter for China Partner in 2000. Since then, he has served as a board member, translator for ministry projects
in China, and interpreter for teaching teams.

Now, Hsu will be creating training materials for emerging Chinese lay pastors who cannot afford to attend the local Bible schools and seminaries. Training is the greatest need for these pastors.  China Partner provides short-term Pastoral Training Seminars, theological study books and assistance for constructing new Bible schools and churches. Hsu and Burklin's trip later this month will help them communicate to the new leadership that China Partner is still
committed to serving them.

Hsu's parents are from mainland China but raised him in Taiwan. Before working with China Partner, Hsu completed his Ph.D. at Purdue University in Chemical Engineering, married,  and worked in three different states as a chemical engineer.
