USA (MNN) — There are new faces in leadership at International Bible Society-Send the Light Ministry.

Somporn Sirikolkarn has been appointed as the Global Vice President for East Asia Pacific.  Sirikolkarn will be relocated back to Bangkok, Thailand to do his work. He worked with Living Bibles International 17 years before LBI merged with IBS in 1992. His work continued for 6 years until he took another position in ministry.

Now, Somporn is back with IBS-STL, whose Global President-CEO Keith Danby said, "Somporn is highly respected in the whole of East Asia Pacific region. I believe we could not have recruited a more credible person to lead our work."

Next, Luciano Jaramillo, who has worked with IBS since 1990, will take on the role of Group Vice President, Latin America. He was previously the Executive Secretary of the Spanish Committee on Bible Translation. In addition to that position, he accepted responsibility as Executive Area Director for Latin America. In 2000, the leading NVI (Nueva Version Internacional) translation project with which Jaramillo was involved passed the mark of one million copies sold.

Danby said of Jaramillo, "In his 17 years with IBS-STL, Luciano has provided outstanding leadership, both in the NVI translation project and as Executive Area Director for Latin America.  I am confident he will continue to be a tremendous asset to IBS-STL."

These additions complete the structure of the global leadership team for IBS-STL which has been in the making since 2007.

IBS-STL has translated the Bible into the language of more than one million speakers and distributes Christian resources to those who need to hear the message of the Gospel.
