Ukraine (MNN) — Another group is gearing up to share the Gospel in Ukraine’s unreached villages–while they still can.

“We need New Testaments for every unreached village,” says evangelist Slavik Radchuk with Christian Aid Mission, your link to indigenous missions. “We want everyone to know Christ. Hell is for the devil, but heaven is for people.”

Radchuk recently returned from Ukraine where thousands of believers in Christ are praying and fasting for their nation every day. The door opened for the gospel in 1991and remains open, but for how long?

With a collapsed economy and soldiers all around, Ukrainian believers trust the Lord will protect them. This trust has opened their eyes to the need in their country.

During summer 2014, hundreds of young student volunteers plan to visit every village with no church and leave four copies of the New Testament in each one. The “Summer for Jesus” project will provide people who have never seen the Scriptures the opportunity to hold the pages of God’s Word in their hands.

“We are a nation of missionaries, not armies,” says Radchuk. “People need the Lord more than ever.”

100,000 copies of the New Testament are needed for the “Summer for Jesus” project to reach villages without a witness for Christ.

“The gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16).

The cost for God’s Word to reach the hands, eyes, and hearts of those who do not know the Savior is only $5 per village.

The six ministries Christian Aid helps in Ukraine are also crying out for provision. “We need food,” the director of Father’s House said. “Our pantry is empty.” Pray for provisions.

Pray also that the people who were once forbidden to read the Scriptures will experience the love of God through His Word. Pray that the students would have wisdom and show compassion on the villagers. Pray that the hearts of the people in Ukraine would be receptive to God’s word.

“Now unto Him Who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, unto Him be glory in the church”( Ephesians 3:20-21).

    Dear Brethren in Christ,
    I am so thankful to God for the abundant way in which God has answered His people’s prayers! I am not sure if you already know, but I wanted to share with you about the project of printing and distributing New Testaments throughout Ukraine that has been taking place since this was written earlier this year. I have been praying for a small mission organization in Ukraine, Master’s International Ministries. In August, a missionary from this ministry informed me that he and many others were planning to help with the distribution of Ukrainian New Testaments and other Christian literature throughout Ukraine. I recently heard that the project has been thus far very fruitful. Most of the New Testaments have been printed, and half have been distributed to church leaders, who will (or already have) in turn distribute these New Testaments to evangelists and other leaders under them to use in their evangelism. Praise the LORD! He is providing.
    The printing and the beginning of the distribution process is being done by Christian Aid Ministries in Ukraine, with others helping as well.
    Our God is awesome!
    “Oh, sing to the LORD a new song!
    for He has done marvelous things;
    His right hand and His holy arm
    have gained Him the victory.
    The LORD has made known His salvation;
    His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.”
    –Psalm 98:1-2

    In Christ,
    Rachel Evans
