USA (MNN) — It’s been a big week of developments in the Planned Parenthood scandal.
The top U.S. abortion provider managed to keep its federal funding when a Senate vote shot down Republican efforts to defund it on Monday.
Center for Medical Progress (CMP) released its fifth undercover video the following day, triggering a new wave of accusations, rebuttal, and debate.
“The videos are uncovering horrific details and things about the abuse of unborn lives,” says LIFE International’s Melinda Delahoyde.
The Planned Parenthood scandal has resulted in more than a few investigations; according to Fox News, officials in 11 states are taking a closer look at their local Planned Parenthood facilities.
Texas authorities announced yesterday a criminal investigation into the Gulf Coast Planned Parenthood Center.
“Our top priority is our patient’s health and safety. We comply with all federal, state and local laws and have extremely high medical standards.”

“The people of Texas will not accept this callous attitude toward human life, and I will not accept it, and that’s why we asked the DA (district attorney) to begin a criminal investigation,” Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick told KHOU-TV.
In addition, four Planned Parenthood clinics in Florida were shut down after investigations revealed illegal second-trimester abortions.
State funding for Planned Parenthood has been cut off in New Hampshire and Louisiana as well.
“Sometimes we focus on the awful things that we’re seeing, but what we want to focus on–as believers in Jesus Christ–is that God is at work,” notes Delahoyde.
Redeeming the Planned Parenthood scandal
The Planned Parenthood scandal isn’t going away anytime soon. CMP has vowed to release more videos in the weeks to come.

“We can make a difference from our own homes, our own communities. When we see these videos, let’s remember that, and let’s become involved to help save lives and heal hearts.”

This is terrible! Don’t people realize that abortion is murder?! I can’t stand the feeling of knowing so many things are wrong with the world and feeling like I can’t do a thing about it. I’m only in high school, so sometimes I feel stuck.
