(International)–We begin today’s newscast looking at the life and ministry of Reverend Richard Wurmbrand, founder of the Voice of the Martyrs. Wurmbrand spent 14 years in prison for his activities in the Romanian underground church. Wurmbrand passed away on Saturday, following lengthy illness. Voice of the Martyrs’ Todd Nettleton. “We, in the Christian community, have lost one of the great heroes of the faith: a man who lived his life 100-percent committed and sold out of the cause of Christ, regardless of what he had to face.” Nettleton says Wurmbrand’s vision continues to grow.” The Voice of the Martyrs is about helping people who are persecuted for their faith, and I think that’s Pastor Wurmbrand’s legacy. The legacy of helps, the printing projects, the radio broadcasts, the Bibles…everyday, that work goes on; that’s part of his legacy.” Wurmbrand will be buried next to his wife, Sabina. Visitation and services will take place on Friday, February 23rd.
