Headlining today’s news, the Pope’s visit to the Holy Land is said to be positive for evangelism in the country. Christians For Israel’s David Sudlow says Pope John Paul the second’s prayer of forgiveness is making many Israelis think. “We’re hearing some voices of some Israelis who, as I said, are saying that it’s not enough. What he has said concerning repentance and the past. But, at the same time there are others who are taking a very good look at it favorably. I think there will be a more favorable attitude even toward evangelical Christians.” This is the first papal visit in 36 years. Sudlow says the Pontiff’s prayer could be positive for Christian work. “They are able to see that not all Christians are like the ones who participated in the crusades and in the Holocaust. It opens doors that they might understand that Christians are not people who hate them, but who really love them.”
