Story number 1 for 26 Jul 2000

We begin today’s newscast in the Sudan where that government is threatening to ban all relief flights into the southern portion of that country. Voice of the Martyrs’ Jim Dau (dow) just returned from that country. Dau doesn’t know how the government can enforce the threatened ban. “I don’t know how they’re gonna stop it. They might threaten, but I don’t know if they have the power to stop it. If you get stopped going in it’ll hurt the Christians there because they do need the relief.” Relief groups are being accused of helping rebels fight government troops in the on-going civil war. Despite the threats, Dau says they continue to help these victims. “We do have a campaign going to supply blankets. We’ve collected over 60,000 blankets and we continually take them in. This isn’t the only trip we’ve done in there, so it’s an ongoing project that we’re doing.” As blankets are provided in Jesus name, the Sudanese are turning to Christ.
