(Sri Lanka)–Headlining today’s news, for the first time in seven years, there’s a ceasefire in civil war-battered Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan Government and Tamil Tiger Fighters signed the accord a few days ago. Gospel For Asia’s K-P Yohannan says the unrest there has paved the way for great evangelistic opportunities. “There has been a bigger vacuum created in the hearts of people all over the country. In all the fights and war it looks like people just lost all their hope. Our missionaries are reporting of people coming to the Lord continually and new churches are planted on a regular basis.” Yohannan reports that their two Bible schools are turning people way. He says Bibles are needed. “We are able to produce a whole New Testament for 30-cents a piece and a whole Bible for less than one dollar. What we need is people to pray for us and plus financially help us to buy the paper. Financing is also being raised for constructing new Bibles schools.”
