Story number 1 for 7 Nov 2000

We begin today in Indonesia where the United State’s support for Israel is beginning to be felt in that predominately Muslim country. AMG International’s Paul Jenks says Indonesians are upset with the U-S support of Israel. “The embassy in Jakarta has had protests brought against it and in the city of Solo, Central Java, a very activist group has gone into the hotels and told American expats to leave within 48 hours because of the support for Israel.” AMG has church planting, theological education, schools and child sponsorship programs in Indonesia. Jenks says prayer is needed while the work continues. “Being an American mission, there in an area where there is potential hostilities we always need to focus the prayer that our 150 plus national workers will be safe and not targeted because of their cooperation with American Christians.”
