Elsewhere, while facing one of the worst economic crises in decades, Ecuador’s desperate attempt to halt spiraling inflation led to the adoption of the U.S. dollar. Since then, rising costs in the country have increased the numbers of those who struggle with poverty. FARMS International recently launched a project in the country, and their work got shot in the arm from an unexpected source. FARMS’ Joseph Richter. “Urbana Mission Conference has designated part of their offering for poor Christians worldwide to help the greenhouse project get off to a good start in Ecuador.” Richter adds that support from the body of Christ comes in many forms.
“The thing that I would like to see people pray for in Ecuador is for a real sense of dignity to return to the Ecuadorian Christians, and a sense that God can provide for them in their situation even though it’s very difficult.”
