(Peru)–Meanwhile, the Gospel is being distributed as a needed commodity as Peru continues to clean up after last month’s earthquake. International Bible Society’s Judy Billings says as relief organizations respond to the victims’ need for food, water, and medicine IBS is providing Scripture. “This is on-going. They’re continuing to find homes that were damaged or destroyed and so many people have been left homeless. And, Scriptures can meet the needs of those facing that disaster.” 77 people died in the seven-point-nine magnitude quake on June 23rd. More than 100-thousand remain homeless. Billings says this is the perfect time to have an impact. “They’re wondering where are you God and who cares that I hurt? They’re wanting to find hope. We are just praying that the Scriptures will provide that hope and that peace and that new beginning for them.”
