Meanwhile, the remaining unreached people groups in southern Africa will be the focus of an evangelistic effort by the World Mission Center based in South Carolina. Agency spokeswoman Sharon Paz (sha-ROHN PAHZ) says they’ll be heading to South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Angola. “We are in the process of deploying 450 missionaries to the 39 remaining unreached people groups in southern Africa. So, I be heading there to help with the deployment process and get a feel for the field again.” According to Paz, this is a culmination of a seven year effort to reach the 100 unreached peoples of the region. She says it’s not just a foreign effort. “The major strategy of the project is to train nationals under the leadership of their own churches and then send them forth for church planting. For the first time, we’re seeing the local church grab such a hold of the great commission.” Pray that a church can be planted among the remaining people groups.
