Meanwhile, Israeli army officials are digging in for a long conflict with the Palestinians which Prime Minister Ehud Barak vowed Israel would meet head-on and win. That conflict is causing missionaries to leave Gaza and the West Bank. Lindy Gregg is with the Christian and Missionary Alliance. “We have several families that are there in Israel. Only one has had to be evacuated, and they were just evacuated within the country. So, they’re safe. They’re still within Israel. They were just moved from one location to another. Other than that everybody is safe.” More than 120 people have been killed in recent Israeli-Palestinian clashes. Gregg says prayer is needed as evangelism continues. “They do have to be careful where they go. I guess we could pray especially for the family that was evacuated. They’re out of their home. They’re out of the work that they were doing and looking for a new route of ministry. Then, just for their continued safety. Most of them do hear bombs going off. They do hear gunfire.”
