We turn next to Russia, where many weren’t sure what to expect with Vladimir Putin being elected president of the country. However, it turns out his election has actually helped ministry in the region. Russian Ministries’ Andrew Semenchuk. “Putin has not put any bearers in the way so far. In fact, many of the organizations had to re-register. And, some of them that did not have been given an extension to be able to re-register, so even there they have been accommodating.” Semenchuk says that cleared the way for a successful youth camping season this summer. “A group of teenagers came to know the Lord. They’ve got their parents out to church. They’ve got their whole community roused up and anxious to find out more about what happened to them in the camp. So, we’re getting young missionaries helping us out.”
