(Southern Africa)–We turn next to the crisis brewing in Southern Africa. According to World Vision’s emergency teams, the years of drought, insufficient harvest, and instability have made food shortages widespread. The situation may near famine status by this summer if current levels of humanitarian aid don’t change. Eleven million people are at risk of starvation in Zimbabwe, Malawi, Lesotho, Swaziland and Mozambique. World Vision staff represents Jesus Christ in their work with people who are impacted by wars, poverty, or disaster.
