(Saudi Arabia)–Next, Christians are still being detained in Saudi Arabia and consulate access is being denied. According to Compass Direct, at least 12 men from India, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Eritrea and the Philippines, were arrested by religious police in a summer time sweep of home-based worship services. Under the strict Saudi interpretation of Islamic law, non-Muslims are strictly forbidden to meet for public worship. Saudi authorities say the men are expected to be released soon and could face deportation.
