Story number 3 for 13 Oct 2000

By October 13, 2000

New Tribes Mission reports volcanic activity in Papua New Guinea has subsided and two missionary families should be able to return to their work. NTM says ten missionaries were evacuated late last week because of information that the Ulawan volcano was erupting. So far, no real damage has been reported by the residents, although a large lava flow was seen on the north side of the mountain. Please pray for continued safety of the missionaries and the 3,000 Mengen people they’re working with.
