Story number 3 for 21 Apr 2000

The poor economy is making food scarce in Haiti. For Haiti with Love’s Eva DeHart says that’s making their ministry more important. “In country the inflationary factor is making the imported food so expensive. Even when the food is available the poor people just simply can’t afford to buy it. It’s increasing our food program to keep up with it.” As people approach For Haiti with Love for help, food is given and the Gospel is shared. DeHart is hoping many churches get involved by sponsoring a pallet of food, which feeds seven-thousand people. “That sounds awfully expensive, but it boils down to 35 cents a meal. If they’d like to sponsor a pallet that would get it from the supplier to our headquarters here in Florida that would be $1,000, if they can raise $2,500 that delivers that pallet to our headquarters in Haiti.”
