(El Salvador)–Emergency teams are still struggling to reach everyone in need of help in the aftermath of El Salvador’s deadly earthquake. Christians In Action’s Bob Spencer says they’re responding to an area where they have workers on the ground. He says they are sending funds for medicines, along with blankets and other crisis supplies. “We’re primarily working to send them bags of rice; we can get a 100-pound bag of rice for $20, and, of course, the bottled water they need very desperately. We’re sending immediate funds for medicine. Our church in this particular area will be helping people to rebuild homes.” Spencer says the disaster has opened the way for believers to share their faith. “When something like this happens, God just really uses this; He has in every earthquake situation that I’ve seen in the past. Churches are born, people are brought to Christ who otherwise would never probably have the opportunity to come to Christ.”
