Story number 3 for 24 May 2001

By May 24, 2001

(South Africa)–The shadow of the AIDS pandemic is reaching across Africa and decimating whole cultures. Consequently, entire generations are growing up without parents. This is where the work of the Association of Christian Schools International comes in. ACSI’s Phil Renicks says for them, the next step is the realization of a dream. “ACSI is actually going to be opening an office in South Africa on July 1. That office will eventually begin relating to all of Sub-Saharan Africa.” Renicks adds that their goal is to share the hope of the Gospel. “We decided that it has to begin at a very early age, actually beginning an intervention program for them that provides literacy training, a good strong health program, along with a character development program based on biblical principles.”
