By February 25, 2002

(Kazakhstan)–Kazakhstan’s President has reportedly not yet signed the controversial religion law approved by parliament. However, despite the secrecy surrounding the bill, it is thought that he will sign the bill within the next two weeks. Keston News credits this report to a source in the presidential administration. If approved, the law will allow unregistered religious groups to be banned, and require all missionaries to be registered. If that occurs, evangelistic outreach may become more difficult.
