Story number 3 for 6 Dec 2000

By December 6, 2000

Compass Direct is reporting that Turkmenistan’s political police have launched another campaign against its Protestant Christian citizens. The most recent incident involves four believers in the capital of Ashgabad who were subjected to forms of torture while under interrogation and prosecution. Turkmenistan remains hostile to Christians; evangelistic literature in the Turkmen language is considered contraband and all foreign Christians involved in religious work in the country have been expelled. Please pray for believers in Turkmenistan.
