(Venezuela)–Missionaries in Venezuela are asking for prayer today. A national strike is being held in opposition to President Hugo Chavez policies on the state monopolized oil industry. The oil industry and the largest labor union are participating. Latin America Mission’s Greg Burch is asking people to pray that the strike won’t stop their outreach to homeless children in Caracas. Burch says the strike is expected to force poverty-stricken families to send children into the streets looking for handouts.
