Meanwhile, American Leprosy Mission continues to expand their work in southern India, despite increased terrorism against the Christian community. ALM’s Lance Renault says with this in mind, they recently appointed Dr. Samuel Michael to oversee all of their projects throughout India. “As we expand, we feel that we just have to do a better job maintaining a continuing oversight of the work and expanding into new project areas. We can’t do that without having someone in-country. So, we have been looking for someone who is Indian, someone who is Christian, someone with leprosy and community health experience.” Dr. Michael is working in Bangalore, located in Karnataka State. Renault says their ministry has not been a target for terrorism, adding that ALM’s passion is: “…to be consistent with our word and our deeds. We need to have people who are committed to Christ Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, so that they can be a witness to those who don’t know Him.”
